This is World Suicide Prevention Day and the 16th annual Walk and Vigil will take place in Corner Brook this evening. Spokesperson Sandy Batt says today’s nice weather should mean another great turnout. She says if anyone is wondering if they should take part, even if they have not been affected by suicide, they are welcome to attend. Batt says when people bond together to deal with grief and loss it is truly something to see and feel. She says there is still a lot of stigma attached and some don’t feel comfortable talking about mental illness. Tonight’s walk starts 7 p.m at Remembrance Square.
