Police handed out eight tickets for speeding in a construction zone just west of Corner Brook yesterday and it only took them about half an hour to do this. The RNC Traffic Services West and Operational Patrol Services members in Corner Brook conducted a targeted speed enforcement.
Meanwhile, this past holiday weekend, RNC in all jurisdictions handed out over 300 tickets for speeding and arrested four impaired drivers. In the Corner Brook region, 129 tickets were issued to drivers for various offences. The weekend blitz was part of ‘Operation Impact,’ a national public awareness campaign, from October 9-12.
