The flu bug has hit this province earlier than normal with about 15 or 16 confirmed cases so far. Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald held a media availability yesterday about the fall vaccination plan for influenza and COVID-19. She says while these cases of influenza are not huge numbers it’s early.
Starting October 19th, vaccinations against influenza and Covid 19 will be available. Fitzgerald spoke about low stats saying only 25-28 percent of the population here get vaccinated. She says vaccination is the best protection against flu and covid.
People can get vaccinations by booking at timefortheshot.ca, or checking with a primary care provider or pharmacy.
