People around the world are still mourning the loss of Dolly Parton who passed away last week at the age of 80. When she celebrated that milestone birthday young country stars joined forces to wish her a special day. On Bayfm’s “Scoffs and Scuffs,” Pam Parsons spoke about how Dolly was all about love and her faith, and her lyrics are honest. She says the song “Coat of many colours” is her own experience that she bravely shared with the world.
Parsons says Dolly inspired so many young artists and in particular Whitney Houston, who covered Dolly’s song “I will always love you,” which took it to a different level in a different genre.
The song was also a big inspiration for Parsons and is one of her own first studio album recorded songs. Parsons’ music is available on all streaming platforms and also includes Dolly’s song, “Coat of many colours.”
