Twenty players with the Corner Brook Royals will be up for grabs tonight for the three remaining teams in the Central-West Senior Hockey League. This includes the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts, Deer Lake Red Wings and Stephenville Lightning. The Royals won’t be lacing up for the season due to the labour dispute at the Civic Centre. On Bayfm, League secretary Don Bradshaw talked about a one-year leave of absence for the team. He says any players not selected this evening will become free agents. Meanwhile, Bradshaw says all 3 teams in the League will see action this weekend as the season starts.
If the Royals return to the League next year, drafted players can go back to the team.
