A couple of projects on the west coast have been given the green light from government to go ahead. The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure will replace an old and deteriorated bridge across the Humber River on Route 440 in Corner Brook, otherwise known as the Ballam bridge. Work will include the demolition of the existing bridge and the construction of a new, permanent bridge.
As well, conditions for a Stormwater Drainage Plan have been met for the Deer Lake Residential and Commercial Subdivisions Project. V & J Tectonic Inc. will be developing two land parcels of about 150 hectares located on Glide Lake Road. This includes recreational facilities, transportation hubs and medical services. Construction will start once the proponent has all required permits and approvals.
