Premier Tony Wakeham says he’s disappointed there was no notice given about an MHA’s decision to leave the Progressive Conservative party and become an Independent. Lake Melville MHA Keith Russell crossed the floor of the House of Assembly at the start of the debate on an agreement to develop Churchill Falls yesterday. Speaking to reporters, Wakeham says he doesn’t know why Russell made this decision. Meanwhile, Wakeham isn’t worried about not having a majority vote. MHA’s will vote on the agreement at the end of this week’s debate.
