Owner Cathy Halbot says when she contacted Principal Flynn at St. Peter’s Academy, he explained how her donation of $100 would pay for 200 breakfasts.

The Western Driving school has brought hundreds of breakfasts to a couple of schools on the west coast. Owner Cathy Halbot is originally from the Bay of islands and has lived in the Bay St. George area. As part of her company’s 12 Days of Giving promotion, Halbot recently donated $100 to breakfast programs at St. Peter’s Academy in Benoit's Cove and Stephenville Primary. She says when she contacted Principal Flynn at St. Peter’s Academy, he explained how her donation of $100 would pay for 200 breakfasts. Any donation made to the school or the Kids Eat Smart Foundation, is doubled. On average it costs $1 to provide a school breakfast.

Halbot says knowing her team’s donation helped is the school she once graduated from truly filled her with excitement and gratitude. Her team also donates to the Western Driving School Kings hockey, helping young people from St. Anthony to Channel-Port aux Basques.
