Premier Tony Wakeham, , on behalf of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, extends heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of two fish harvesters, who lost their life in a tragic incident off Harbour Round on the Baie Verte Peninsula.
Wakeham says the fishing industry has long been at the heart of communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, and tragedies such as this are deeply felt across the province. He says as family, friends, fellow harvesters and the Harbour Round community come to terms with this heartbreaking loss, the Provincial Government joins Newfoundlanders and Labradorians in mourning and offering support to those affected.
The province is also deeply grateful for all those who supported the search and recovery efforts.
