Twelve RNC and six RCMP officers were recognized on Friday for removing impaired drivers from our roadways. MADD Canada hosted their annual Team Nick Coates Awards. The award is named in honour of Nick Coates, who was killed by an impaired driver in August of 2013.

Four members of the Corner Brook RNC were among the list including Cst. Chloe O’Keefe, Cst. Chris Horan, Cst. Riley Stoyles, as well as Cst. Carter Fridgen who was also recognized as a Top Performer. Last year, there were over 2,700 calls for service related to impaired driving in RNC jurisdictions alone.
