Volunteer recruitment drive at the Marina Redmond Centre for the summer games coming to Corner Brook

    Residents are invited to drop by, chat with City and Games staff, enjoy some ice cream cake and those who sign up can stay for a regularly scheduled open swim at 7:30 p.m., at no cost.

    There will be a volunteer recruitment drive for the 2026 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games coming to Corner Brook at the Marina Redmond Centre from 4-8 p.m..  Residents are invited to drop by, chat with City and Games staff, enjoy some ice cream cake and those who sign up can stay for a regularly scheduled open swim at 7:30 p.m., at no cost. Cassidy Mercer is the Games Manager and on Bayfm with Lenny Benoit, she says they’re looking for 500 volunteers in Corner Brook and Stephenville to fill roles from August 8th to the 15th. Duties include food services, VIP Services, security services, Athletes' Village, and more during the games as well as helping with preparations leading up to the event. Mercer says volunteers can choose their own area. Interested individuals must be 15 years of age as of July 1st, 2026 and also provide a clear background check with the RNC.  For more information go to nlgames.ca
