The new Adult Mental Health and Addictions facility in the capital city is nearing completion

    The most recent work on the 240,000 square foot, six-storey building includes the installation of the facility’s HVAC system, drywall and ceilings, as well as work on the lighting, controls and the Building Automation System.

    Construction on the new adult mental health and addictions facility in St. John’s is well underway. The most recent work on the 240,000 square foot, six-storey building includes the installation of the facility’s HVAC system, drywall and ceilings, as well as work on the lighting, controls and the Building Automation System. Millwork is ongoing work on the main entrance has also recently started. In the coming weeks, signage will be replaced, bringing it one step closer to completion. A new 60-bed hostel will be located on the top floor of the new building. By the time construction is completed, it is anticipated that more than 400 jobs will have been created, with approximately 95 per cent of workers from Newfoundland and Labrador.
