Since 2015, thousands of people have availed of a free income tax service offered by students from the Bachelor of Business Administration program at Grenfell Campus. It was started then by Professor Lynn Kendall and is known as the “Community Volunteer Income Tax Program.” She says it’s developed and administered through the Canada Revenue Agency.
Kendall says they also have people from the community volunteer to complete income tax returns for students, seniors or people with modest incomes. This year, they completed about 150 tax returns through help from 12 volunteers. Kendall says students can also get credit towards their degree. The clinic has ended for this year as Grenfell students are preparing for exams and completing projects that are due.
