Taking the bus in Corner Brook gets easier with new M-Cards

    Darren Charters is the city’s Director of Community Engineering, Development and Planning. He says it’s a way to modernize the transit service but they will be keeping other methods, like cash.

    Taking the bus in Corner Brook just got a little easier. Transit riders can now buy an M-Card and reload them online for trips on City Transit buses. Cards can be purchased at City Hall for a one time fee of $5. Darren Charters is the city’s Director of Community Engineering, Development and Planning. He says it’s a way to modernize the transit service but they will be keeping other methods, like cash. Charters says Metrobus in St. John’s allowed the city to piggy back on the system. He says they hope to offer other points of sale, like College of the North Atlantic and Grenfell Campus in the new year. The card is the same size of a debit card and is read by a reader once they board the bus.
