The Town of Stephenville is going for the big prize in Canada’s ParticipACTION Challenge this month. Symone Hunt is with the Recreation and Wellness Division. She says while there are regional prizes of up to $10K, they want to be Canada’s Most Active Community which gets $100K. Hunt says there is a need for this funding to get more sports and recreation in the town
Hunt says all residents have to do is register online at participaction.com and it is based on population. She says everyone’s movement is tracked throughout the month of June. Since beginning in 2019, ParticipACTION has awarded $1.5M to 49 communities.
