Safety tips from the Corner Brook Fire Department

    Derek Simmons is the Deputy Fire Chief with the Corner Brook Fire Department. He says people are decorating for the season and candles should be kept on a sturdy base.

    Candles can be a part of Christmas decorating but users must always take precautions and be careful. Derek Simmons is the Deputy Fire Chief with the Corner Brook Fire Department. He says people are decorating for the season and candles should be kept on a sturdy base. Simmons says it’s never safe to use too many lights. He says if you leave your home always turn off the lights to the tree and blow out the candles. He says test your smoke alarms to be safe.
