RCMP stop pursuit of a truck in Stephenville in the interest of public safety

    The truck is confirmed as a black Nissan Frontier with a roof rack. 

    Bay St. George RCMP is looking to identify the owner or driver of a vehicle that fled from police last Wednesday afternoon. At approximately 2:00 p.m. an officer tried to stop a pickup truck on Carolina Avenue. Cpl Jolene Garland says the truck kept going and drove over a number of residential properties causing damage to some lawns and caused damage. She says in the interest of public safety, officers did not pursue the vehicle which was last seen on Georgia Drive. The truck is confirmed as a black Nissan Frontier with a roof rack.
