RCMP still investigating theft from a Deer Lake gas station, a local woman has been charged

    RCMP Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says police were flagged down about the incident at the store on Upper Nicholsville Road and hey reported the woman who was known to staff had left without paying for merchandise.

    A 38-year-old woman was picked up Thursday evening after a theft from a gas station in Deer Lake. RCMP Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says police were flagged down about the incident at the store on Upper Nicholsville Road and hey reported the woman who was known to staff had left without paying for merchandise. The woman was located a short time later on Chapel Hill Road and taken into custody without incident. 

    The woman is due to appear in court February 10th and faces charges of theft under $5K and failing to comply with a probation order.  The investigation is ongoing. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to contact the Deer Lake RCMP at 709-635-2173.
