RCMP bust gun manufacturing and trafficking operation in Harbour Grace

    Police found 16 long guns, 33 handguns, ammunition of various calibers, a "security uniform and hard body armour.

    RCMP have busted a large weapons manufacturing and trafficking operation in Harbour Grace. Staff Sgt Ken Maher says a package destined for the town was intercepted by Canada Border Services on May 30th and an investigation started. He says they seized a large amount of firearm parts, assembled guns and 10 prohibited weapons on Monday at a home on Lemarchant Road. This includes 16 long guns, 33 handguns, ammunition of various calibers, a "security uniform and hard body armour. Staff Sgt. says charges have been laid against 49-year-old John Byrne and 41-year-old Crystal Chislett.  people. A large quantity of 3-d printed firearm magazines and parts, 10 prohibited weapons, including knives and brass knuckles, and a body armour vest was also seized during the search.
