Qalipu also has a mental health navigator who can help people get in touch with treatment centres.
The holidays are getting near and the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season surrounds us all. While the season brings joy for most there are some people who suffer and loneliness sets in. Annette George is the manager of Mental Wellness with the Qalipu First Nations band. Speaking on Qalipu Today this week, she says there are a lot of programs members can avail of, like non-insured health benefits and a mental health benefit, which covers 22 visits per year. George says Qalipu also has a mental health navigator who can help people get in touch with treatment centres. She says there has been a large growth in this service but some are still unaware that it exists. George says this time of year can be really hard for some people even with weather changes. George says all services are confidential.
