Andrew Furey says wind hydrogen projects are expected to bring $200 billion to NL’s GDP and 12,000 jobs.
Premier Andrew Furey says this province has a promising future at this global time of transition, particularly with its renewable energy potential. The Premier was addressing the Empire Club of Canada in Toronto yesterday. Furey says in the current global climate of geopolitical uncertainty and an ever-growing demand for clean, renewable energy balanced with the need for lower carbon, more responsible oil, Newfoundland and Labrador has a unique position in Canada and indeed the world. The Premier was asked a question about what will happen in 2041 when the Churchill Falls deal expires with Quebec. He says the Quebec Premier needs to show him the money. Furey says wind hydrogen projects are expected to bring $200 billion to NL’s GDP and 12,000 jobs.
