Corner Brook Mayor Linda Chaisson says “Disc Golf is the biggest sport that you’ll never heard of.” It ‘s like regular golf but with a frisbee, and the one who throws the least to complete the course wins. Here in the city, an 18-hole-course is located off Mayfair Avenue near the Captain Cook’s Lookout. On Bayfm with Lenny Benoit, Chaisson spoke about a recent meeting with the non-profit group, CB Disc Golf, and says they have plans to expand. This is a free service and they want to expand the trail into the gorge area. There are 2-3 holes that are accessible with more to come this spring.
Chaisson says it’s another level of recreation and fun within city limits. She says people can also walk on the course during the winter. For more information email cornerbrookdiiscgolf@gmail.com or check out the group’s social media.
