One of the injured has been released from hospital and is currently with her family in Corner Brook. She is expected to return home shortly.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada has given an update on the plane crash that occurred last Friday near Corner Brook. Two aircraft chartered by Fisheries and Oceans Canada were working together on a scientific mission to survey marine mammals when one of them crashed on August 9th. Three Fisheries and Oceans Canada employees working at the Maurice Lamontagne Institute, Quebec Region, and the pilot, were on board of the crashed aircraft. Two other employees were also injured in the accident. One of the injured has been released from hospital and is currently with her family in Corner Brook. She is expected to return home shortly. The other injured employee is expected to be released from hospital soon. Psychological support was quickly put in place and is being offered to Maurice Lamontagne Institute employees and all Fisheries and Oceans Canada employees in the Quebec region.
