National defense experts are en route to Stephenville today after a piece of military munition was found near St. George’s. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says it looks like something that came from World War II. Bay St. George RCMP have stored the item at headquarters on Oregon Drive. O’Donaghey says officers are advising residents of the risk and helping people who want to evacuate the area voluntarily. As a result, the detachment is closed to the public until further notice.
