Starting April 1st, the city of Corner Brook will be introducing a new on-demand transit for weeknights and weekends. On Bayfm with Lenny Benoit, Mayor Linda Chaisson says this is a good news story and something they’ve been working on for awhile. On April 1st, hours of service will be extended to 6-11 p.m. Monday thru Friday and weekends from 9-5. People will have to call to book a ride. Chaisson says the phone number to book a ride for the on demand transit will be launched soon. She says this will help a lot of people and workers in the city. During the last public council meeting, $100K was approved to cover the labour portion on two new accessible vans to be used in the new on-demand transit service.
