Saying “we stand on the precipice of a new Newfoundland and Labrador, one that is defined in innovation, resilience and a commitment to the well being of every resident,” Finance Minister tabled the 2025 provincial budget in the House of Assembly yesterday (April 9). For the fourth consecutive budget, there will be no increases and continued decreases in taxes and fees, while investing in education for teaching services and technology for the classroom, access to health care and support for seniors. Coady says $200 million will be spent for workers affected due to the uncertainty of U.S. tariffs.
