On Bayfm’s “the Plain Truth,” one of the guests was Nicole Deveau, the coordinator of the Coalition Against the Sexual Exploitation of Youth or CASEY.
This is Stop Sexual Exploitation Week and the theme is “It Happens Here; together we can create a safer community.” On Bayfm’s “the Plain Truth,” one of the guests was Nicole Deveau, the coordinator of the Coalition Against the Sexual Exploitation of Youth or CASEY. She says CASEY has been in NL for about 13 years and there are 25 members. Deveau says a lot of people don’t realize that it is happening here. She says young people can be vulnerable. Deveau says while not everything is preventable, it’s important for parents to have an open dialogue with their kids and set up a family media plan. She says everyone has a legal duty to report instances of sexual exploitation of youth. For more information go to cybertips.ca or needhelpnow.ca
