Hutchings says cod is who we are and the backbone of the fish we have.

The Recreational Food Fishery is heading into its third weekend, offering residents and tourists the opportunity to catch a few fish for the table. The limit is 5 groundfish per person, with a maximum boat limit of 15 fish. Rural Economic Development and ACOA Minister Gudie Hutchings says cod is who we are and the backbone of the fish we have. The 2024 recreational groundfish fishery will be open for a total of 39 days and there is no requirement for licences or tags.
