The City’s civic holiday remains as the third Monday in February as part of Winter Carnival.
There has never been a set date for “Corner Brook Day” but after last night’s public meeting, council decided August 1st will from now on be known as Corner Brook Day each year. On Bayfm this morning, Mayor Linda Chaisson spoke about how there was never a specific date and it has changed throughout the years based on scheduling for other events.
Meanwhile, for this year only, Chaisson says Corner Brook Day will be next Saturday, August the 29th with events at Margaret Bowater Park but it’s not a Civic holiday or shop-closing day. The City’s civic holiday remains as the third Monday in February as part of Winter Carnival.
