There will be a detour that will divert traffic from Curling Street to O‘Connell Drive and back to Petries Street.

Construction on the Petries Street Bridge Replacement Project is set to start this week and that means a temporary closure of a section of Petries Street for about 6 weeks. At this week’s public meeting, Councillor Sherry Dean spoke about the detour that will divert traffic from Curling Street to O‘Connell Drive and back to Petries Street. However, the closure will impact the existing ATV route. To allow for the continued use of this route, Council approval is required for the temporary designation of an alternate ATV route for the duration of the construction and road closure.

Dean says once construction is complete, this temporary ATV route will end. This route:is Petries Street to Connors Road to Bartlett’s Road to Pike’s Avenue to Petries Street. There will be signage for all motorists in the area during the bridge replacement on Petries Street.
