A local band with a local name made their first performance at the Trails, Tales, and Tunes Festival in Norris Point. The ten day, talent packed event wraps up this weekend. Tom Boland is the lead singer, guitarist, for the band, “The Mill City Mavericks.” He joined Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit and says they play classic music styles like Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash. He says the Trails, Tales and Tunes Festival is a popular event. Boland says the band is busy making plans but will be at the Jigs and Wheels Festival in Corner Brook this summer. The Mill City Mavericks will also play at the Arts and Culture Centre in Stephenville this September. The Mill City Mavericks, a.k.a. Tom Boland, Darren Vincent, Sheldon Power and Wilf Pardy.
