Eddie Joyce says the family on Ocean’s Drive in the north shore community deserve funding as all taxpayers in the province should be treated equally, not just for political advantage.
Bay of Islands MHA Eddie Joyce is asking the government to step in and help a Cox’s Cove family who have lost their homeland property. Joyce is asking for equal treatment for all residents in relation to a statement he received from Municipal and Provincial Affairs Minister John Haggie. In a response to Joyce on February 4th, it says “ “relocation assistance was determined based on the Mud Lake relocation policy.” Joyce says the Mud Lake relocation was not community initiated nor driven. He wants to see the legislation since he feels confident it does not exist, saying changes to any legislation have to be approved by the House of Assembly. Joyce says the family on Ocean’s Drive in the north shore community deserve funding as all taxpayers in the province should be treated equally, not just for political advantage. Bayfm News has reached out to the Minister’s office for a comment.
