Robert is an 18-hand Clydesdale–Percheron cross with a calm demeanor, and steady temperament, he embodies the strength, intelligence, and reliability that make draft horses exceptional partners for mounted work.
One of the newest members of the RNC has four legs, an impressive stature, and will likely be seen in our ‘neigh’bourhood. Robert is with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Mounted Unit, which started in 1873 with seven horses and seven riders. Cst Stephanie Myers says at its peak the Mounted Unit had 10 horses and up until Robert it included three riders and three mounts; Harvey, Castle and Dobbin II.

Robert is adjusting well to his new home and stable-mates Harvey, Castle and Dobbin II, as well as his rider Cst Neil Philpott.
Robert was gifted by the Crosbie family, with his namesake from the late Robert Crosbie, who died last year.
