A 35-year-old man is facing charges after stealing from a Stephenville liquor store on Monday. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says Bay St. George RCMP got the call one o’clock in the afternoon. Officers received a report from a liquor store on Prince Rupert Drive in Stephenville. An employee of the store told police they witnessed a man taking merchandise without paying, and provided a description and surveillance photo of the suspect.
A short time later, an officer on patrol along Main Street located the man with the assistance of the photo, and arrested him without incident. The 35-year-old man was charged with three counts of theft under $5,000 and has a court date in March.
