Deer Lake was the first airport in the province to partner with the low–cost carrier Flair.
As the Deer Lake Regional Airport Authority celebrates 25 years in service, the President and CEO is looking towards future growth. Tammy Priddle says a lot has happened over the past 25 years, including the new runway, expansion of an international lounge, long term and terminal building. She says Deer Lake was the first airport in the province to partner with the low–cost carrier Flair, and she says they’re coming back. Peddle says that includes flights to Toronto’s Pearson International and Kitchener-Waterloo. She says Flair will be back in May and bookings are open now. Priddle says their biggest challenge was getting through the Covid pandemic and they are still reeling from the impact. PAL airlines also continues to offer a service to Moncton and St. John’s.
