He was transferred to RNC custody and will attend court to face charges that now include resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

A man wanted by the RNC was arrested by Port Saunders RCMP at a traffic stop Friday afternoon. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says officers noticed a pickup truck travelling the wrong way on a one way street. The driver indicated that he was not from the area and was unaware of the street’s direction. He gave false information regarding his name, date of birth and province of residence.

O’Donaghey says the driver was not permitted to be operating a vehicle as a condition of a release order. James Boone, 41, was arrested and returned to the local detachment. He was transferred to RNC custody and will attend court to face charges that now include resisting/obstructing a peace officer. The investigation is continuing, with more charges possible.
