Jim Parsons says the need for social housing is everywhere and there are people here living in hotels because of this.
Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says housing dominated discussion at the Municipalities NL convention this past weekend in St. John’s. Parsons says it was a great chance to compare notes and try to figure out how to solve problems. He says the need for social housing is everywhere and there are people here living in hotels because of this. Parsons says Corner Brook needs social housing, which is a provincial government mandate. He says the city of St. John’s has about 400 units but they’re not prepared for it. Parsons says they’ll continue to work with community partners to help meet the needs of people.
