Canada accepted her and commissioned her HMCS Corner Brook on June 29th, 2003.
If you see some sharp white uniforms around town, it’s because members of the Canadian Navy are here to mark the 20th anniversary of the HMCS Corner Brook. Members participating in the visit are Commander Eric Isabelle, Lieutenant(N) James Adams, Chief Petit Officer Michael Tibbits, Master Sailor Angus Maclean, Sailor First Class Nathan Bisson. Commander Isabelle says it’s his first time visiting Corner Brook. Commander Isabelle says the former HMS Ursula was laid up by the Royal Navy in June 1994. Canada accepted her and commissioned her HMCS Corner Brook on June 29th, 2003. The crew of the HMCS Corner Brook will be at the Legion tomorrow and will fly back to British Columbia on Friday, which is where the submarine is docked.
