Government looking for feedback on the Wild Life and Endangered Species Acts

    The proposed legislative amendments will increase fines and penalties, clarify and enhance legislative provisions related to conservation officer responsibilities, modernize legislation for clarity and ease of interpretation and enhance the protection of wildlife and endangered species.

    Government is looking for feedback on proposed changes to fines and penalties in the Wild Life Act, Endangered Species Act. The proposed legislative amendments will increase fines and penalties, clarify and enhance legislative provisions related to conservation officer responsibilities, modernize legislation for clarity and ease of interpretation and enhance the protection of wildlife and endangered species. Feedback will be accepted through the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture until Thursday, January 11, through an online questionnaire available at engageNL
