Former city manager being honoured today at "Second Chance Cove" next to the fish plant on Griffin Drive

    Corner Brook Mayor Linda Chaisson spoke about how Rodney Cumby was all about giving second chances and that was his philosophy in life.

    “Second Chance Cove” is an area next to the fish plant in Curling on Griffin Drive and today, this beautifully transformed waterfront location is being dedicated to a man who made it his vision. Rodney Cumby was a former Manager with the city of Corner Brook and at noon, a monument will be unveiled in his honour. On Bayfm, Mayor Linda Chaisson spoke about how Rodney Cumby was all about giving second chances and that was his philosophy in life. Chaisson says the space looked like a dump before and he had it cleaned up. The monument includes an inscription that Rodney Cumby “sought to create places that could be enjoyed by all.”
