Byrne says he brought that message to the Federal fisheries Minister and she rejected the idea outright despite the unanimous decision of all premiers and fisheries ministers in Canada.
Fisheries Minister Gerry Byrne says Premier Andrew Furey has done something that has never been done before….All provinces and territories in Canada now support NL’s position to have joint management of our fisheries. Byrne says he brought that message to the Federal fisheries Minister and she rejected the idea outright despite the unanimous decision of all premiers and fisheries ministers in Canada. He says this needs to change or it’s time for a new minister or government. Byrne says it would be nice to hear how federal PC Leader Pierre Poilievre feels about joint management. He says the plan now is to create a campaign to heighten the issue of joint management.
