People have a chance to help shape the province’s 10-year Poverty Reduction and Prevention Strategy, a long-term approach to reducing poverty, preventing it from occurring, and improving outcomes. This can be done in a couple of ways; an online survey takes about five minutes to complete by visiting EngageNL. Written submissions can be mailed to P.O. Box 8700, St. John's, NL A1B 4J6. The deadline for both is August 31st.
To date, sessions have been held in Corner Brook, Stephenville, and Rocky Harbour, with more sessions taking place throughout August and into the fall. Feedback from these sessions, the online survey and written submissions, will ensure the strategy reflects diverse experiences, regional perspectives and the needs of communities throughout the province.
