Farmers affected by drought last year can now apply for funding

    Opening late participation ensures farmers like fruit and vegetable growers, can access AgriStability support due to extreme dry conditions in 2025. 

    Farmers who were impacted by drought last year can now apply for federal-provincial funding. The 2025 AgriStability program will allow for late participants and final applications must be submitted by the September 30th, 2026 deadline. Opening late participation ensures farmers like fruit and vegetable growers, can access AgriStability support due to extreme dry conditions in 2025. 

    All farmers and producers are encouraged to apply for federal-provincial cost-shared Business Risk Management Programs for 2026 which include AgriStability, AgriInsurance and AgriInvest. Provincial Forestry Minister Pleaman Forsey says they remain “committed to finding practical solutions to assist our hard-working farmers and producers and support our rural communities.”
