Ella Rashleigh and Lily Smallwood are the 2026 Tim Horton’s Corner Brook Winter Carnival Ambassadors. They dropped in to the Bayfm studios for a chat with Lenny Benoit last week. A highlight of their visit was the fact they were both Carnival Leiflings. Rashleigh was a Leifling in 2019 and says she looked up to the ambassadors.
It was 2017, when Smalll wood was selected to be Leifling. She remembers being upset when it came time for closing ceremonies and she knew the fun was over. Smallwood likes to ski but plays more hockey, soccer and ball hockey. She enjoys the community aspect of Winter carnival.
Rashleigh is very involved with the music scene here in Corner Brook, with Graham Academy Camber Arts on the upcoming performance of the “Prom” for three days in March. She says there’s one Carnival event she’s really looking forward to as they get to judge the Beard Growing Competition.
Corner Brook Winter Carnival 2026 takes place from February 20th to March 1st.
