Education Minister Krista Lynn Howell, Minister of Education has issued a statement regarding the proposed changes to the program of studies for students in Grades 7 to 9. The statement starts with, “Following the announcement that the Department of Education was seeking feedback on proposed changes to the program of studies for students in Grades 7 to 9, we have heard from many in the school community and partners in education.” The opportunity for school communities, including parents, guardians, teachers and students to share their feedback through the online platform has been extended until March 21, 2025. In addition, the Department of Education is extending the consultation process with stakeholders and will consult with more educational partners to gather as much feedback as possible. As a result implementation of the proposed changes in the selected 14 schools for the 2025-26 school year is being delayed."
