T wo of four samples tested last week had E-coli.
The town of Steady Brook is under a boil water advisory after e-coli was found in two of the four water samples tested on August 3rd. The town was notified late Friday afternoon by an official at Service NL regarding the requirement for a boil water advisory. This was due to low chlorine residuals being found at 2 of the four sample locations. These locations also indicated the presence of E-coli. Chlorine is used in water systems to kill most bacteria, such as E-coli.
