Water usage is on a downward trend in the city of Corner Brook. At this week’s public meeting, Councillor Donna Wheeler says consumption is down close to 2 million litres over last year’s numbers and last month was a record.
Wheeler says cutting down on the number of leaks is a key priority for city crews.
Assistant Director of Engineering, Development and Operational Services, Aaron O’Brien says last summer, they conducted a city-wide study, a water audit with a specialist. He says a lot of these leaks are underground.
Meanwhile, an industry specialist will begin a water treatment process review to identify opportunities for improvement.
