With the New Year’s Eve celebrations approaching, the city of Corner Brook is reminding residents of the bylaw regulating fireworks. On New Year’s Eve, fireworks are only permitted between the hours of 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. on January 1st. These hours are in place to make timing predictable for those with sensitivities to loud noises, and pets. The bylaw does allow fireworks to occur the day before (Dec 30) or day after (Jan 1) as well, for families unable to celebrate the day of. A permit is required, and forms available at cornerbrook.com
