A public annual general meeting gets underway 5pm at the Corner Brook Port Corporation.
The Corner Brook Port Corporation will host their annual general meeting this evening. CEO Jackie Chow says they will present their annual report and approve financial statements from last year. Chow says the total economic impact generated by cruise activity last year is $8.6 million. That number includes money spent by cruise line passengers on tours, at restaurants and local businesses. Meanwhile, Chow says government is currently reviewing 19 applications for wind development projects and she’s looking forward to hearing more news soon. Today’s event is open to the public and it gets underway 5 pm at the Corner Brook Port. Business development Manager Jennifer Hartley will also give a presentation on business at the port over the past year at this evening’s meeting.
