Immigration Minister and Corner Brook MHA Gerry Byrne is raising concerns about what he calls is a worrisome move by Ottawa. He says the feds have indicated that they will administer Workforce Development Funding across the country, not the provincial government. Byrne says they’re also cutting $625 million a year in funding. He says for this province it could mean a $16.8 million cut in funding for labour market programming for groups of individuals who are struggling to become a part of society. The current level of funding comes to an end in September.
